Cockatiels and lovebirds, as a matter of fact you can include parakeets or budgies, macaws, parrots, cockatoos and conures as well, they bite as they do not like something, may be a certain action that you did or may be you threaten it in some way or even due to undesirable environment in the cage or in the room where the cage is placed.
Usually you can stop biting by using few powerful methods,
1)The Wooden Dowel method, whenever your bird looks like biting give it a wooden dowel to bite on, it will soon realize there is no use of biting.
2)Withstand a few bites, let the bird bite when its angry and you should not show any discomfort or should not shout anything, just act like nothing happened, the birds will soon feel there is no use of biting anymore! But be careful and do not attempt this with bigger birds, limit this technique to smaller birds like parakeets, lovebirds and cockatiels.
3)Pinch the Beak and say no whenever the bird bites, of course be very gentle when you pinch the nose, let it know its not good but do not hurt it in any way.
